Carnage is back! After a hiatus to run Street Machine Drag Challenge for 2025, Scotty is back in the workshop and ready to crank out some work on the project cars.

For this week’s episode, he sticks nitrous on the 4.2-litre, stroker supercharged V6 in our VN Berlina. The nitrous kit in question is actually robbed from our sleeper 1UZ Lexcen wagon, from when we put a nitrous sprayer on the intercooler in the hopes of cooling off the Lexcen’s IATs.

That experiment didn’t work, so why not throw it on the VN? For all its extra stroke, the bigger cube V6 has been pretty underwhelming on the power front. So we’re hoping to fix it with giggle gas!

By running a 100 dry shot, keeping things simple as it only requires a nitrous solenoid and just command extra fuel from the injectors using the Haltech Platinum Sport Plug-In GM ECU the VN already has.

To install the nitrous jet, Scotty removed the blower and drilled a hole after the throttle body for the fogger jet. The solenoid was installed along with the purge solenoid, which’ll be controlled by Haltech gear once it’s all wired in and installed properly.

So enjoy this week’s episode below, and get keen to see this thing hit the dyno next week with some nitrous!
