P-plater clocked at 155km/h in Holden Barina

P-plater fined almost $3000 for too much zoom-zoom in his beep-beep

A 20-year-old driver has been fined almost $3000 for doing more than 45 km/h over the limit – in a ancient Holden ‘Beep Beep’ Barina. 

On Sunday 18 August, the P-plater was caught by Coffs Harbour Highway Patrol officers in the Barina driving at a frankly staggering 155 km/h. This was in a 100 km/h zone of the the Gwydir Highway, Eatonsville.

The 20-year-old from Glenreagh was handed a $2959 infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit, and had his licence suspended for six months. He was also pinged for a number of other infringements, including failing to display his P plates.

The Barina’s rego was also suspended and the number plates were seized and returned to Transport New South Wales.
