The quarter mile will come alive in Alice Springs when the Top Doorslammer Family Feud headlines this year’s Red CentreNATS, presented by LMCT+, from 5 to 7 September.
West Australian husband and wife duo Daniel and Lisa Gregorini will take on uncle and nephew team John and Brodie Zappia in a battle that promises fierce rivalry, raw horsepower and edge of your seat racing.
As one of the headline match ups of the drag racing program, the showdown will see two families with unfinished business settle the score where it matters most, on the track.

Both families will be travelling down from Darwin after competing in the Nitro Up North Grand Final on 29 and 30 August. Lisa is currently sitting second on the National Drag Racing Championship Top Doorslammer leaderboard, John is in third, Brodie in fourth and Daniel in seventh.
The Gregorinis are carrying strong form into Alice Springs, having enjoyed a consistent and competitive season.
“The car has been running consistently fast this season, setting new PBs multiple times throughout the season. Hopefully we can continue putting down consistent fast laps,” Lisa said.
For Lisa, it is her first time racing at Red CentreNATS and she is eager to put on a show for the local crowd.
“This is my first time racing in Alice Springs. I’m excited to put on a show for the crowd. I’ve never been to Red CentreNATS before, but I’ve heard it’s an absolute blast,” Lisa said.

Daniel, who once set the track MPH record at Alice Springs Inland Dragway, says he is ready to make more memories in the Red Centre.
“I have raced in Alice once in my career and I believe I set, and still hold, the track record in the quarter mile at 257mph,” Daniel said.
“I can’t wait to run wild again and doing it at Red CentreNATS will be great. I’ve never attended before, but I hear it goes off.”
The spotlight will be on when the two families line up.
“Definitely fired up for this match-up. It’s no secret there’s a rivalry between our teams and this just motivates us more to be able to put on a show for the fans and hopefully be the family to walk away with the winning title,” Lisa said.
“Every time myself and John have gone face to face over the years it’s always been more than just a race. We both live and breathe Top Doorslammer and we have had many moments, so there’s no love lost in that department,” Daniel said.

“Who knows what’s going to go down in the heat of the moment, and with the addition of Lisa and Brodie to the two teams it makes for an interesting mix at the Red CentreNATS.”
And with Heavy Hitters racing under lights, there will be plenty at stake.
“Big prize money on the line always makes racers push harder than usual, so you’re going to see some fast, unpredictable racing,” Daniel said.
The pair also paid tribute to their hardworking crew.
“There is always pressure to perform, not just for the crowd, but for the people who truly make this all possible: our sponsors and, most of all, our crew. These legends bust their guts day in and day out, pouring everything they’ve got into getting these cars ready,” Lisa said.
“So, when we hit that track, we’re not just racing, we’re racing for them. Giving them a reason to smile, to cheer, to feel proud and that’s what fuels us.”

Lisa added that Alice Springs fans are in for something truly special.
“It’s all an experience every motorsport fan needs to tick off the bucket list. Kicking off with the midweek Desert Nationals Sportsman Series, then shifting into high gear with Red CentreNATS and all-out drag racing action, it’s non-stop thrills from start to finish,” Lisa said.
“Regional tracks are the stepping stone for future big-time drag racers. It’s no different from AFL or V8 Supercars. These people all come from a small competition somewhere in Australia before they made the big time,” Daniel said.
The 11th annual Red CentreNATS, presented by LMCT+, takes place in Alice Springs from 5 to 7 September 2025, combining drag racing, burnouts, show and shine, street cruising and more in Australia’s most unique motorsport festival.
