Here’s a quick spin around the latest offerings from Grays, looking at the modern classics from the Big Three.

Leading the pack is a 2010 VE HSV ClubSport R8 20 Years of ClubSport edition, with just 806km on the clock. Build number 0026 is an auto, with sunroof, leather seats, 20in Pentagon rims in Millenium Silver and performance suspension.

We spent a lot of time in Chrysler 300 SRTs and this 2015 SRT LX still does it for me. Powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi and an eight-speed auto, these babies make an outstanding interstate express. This one has a reasonable 120,027km on the clock.

The Ford Tickford Experience (FTE) models that were based on the AU Falcon and Fairlane were the last hurrah for the venerable Windsor V8. Even in 5.6-litre form, the were outgunned by HSVs offerings, but 20 + years later the FTE models have aged well.

This example is a 2001 AUII TE50, with the basic 5.0-litre and four-speed auto driveline. It is just about to tick over 190km on the clock and is ready to be the star of your local cars and coffee mornings.

When the VY model lobbed in lobbed in September 2002, the sharper styling and new dash gave the Commodore fresh new look that has also also aged well. This SS is a bit of a hottie, with cammed LS1, with a Powerglide conversion, 3000rpm stall and a 4.11 TrueTrac dif.

If you fancy something spicier, consider this twin-turbo VY ClubSport. Mods include a built 427 LSX block, manualised 4L80 auto, transbrake, 2800rpm convertor and LSD with billet axles. The car has also comes with mini tubs, full ‘cage, harness and ‘chute. The car comes with dyno sheets showing over 1000hp at the treads and has 9-second timeslips to its credit.

Finally, we have a 1997 EL GT Falcon. This one has a light 108,188km and is one of the rarer manual-equipped examples. It needs a little tidying up, but is otherwise a glorious example of 90s muscle car excess.
