“I’ve had my Skyline since I was 19, and I’m now 33. I traded an S13 Silvia and $2000 to buy it, back when The Trading Post and Gumtree were still a thing. I drove the car around as-is for many years as my daily.

“At one stage, I had it pulled apart to get the engine freshened up, but my property got caught up in the floods down here in Latrobe, Tasmania, so the car went partially under water and was filled with mud.

“In recent years, I completely stripped the Skyline back to bare metal and did a full respray myself in Mazda Soul Red, with some help from one of the panel beaters at work, as I’ve been a vehicle spray painter by trade since I was 16.

“For six months in our spare time, we got the job done at ARC Devonport, where I currently work. The car’s not perfect, but it’s still a very nice thing, and the original RB20DET engine is basically stock; it’s just been cleaned up.

“It has stood the test of time and my driving in my younger days – you can’t go wrong with a good old RB20!”
