Jonathan Sergiou
Ford XA Falcon

“My dad and I are building an XA GT replica. There hasn’t been a great rush to finish it, because we have so many other cars and projects to work on, but we are nearly there after six years.

“It’s got a 393 stroker and a shortened diff, and a white interior with black carpet. The paint is Lime Glaze, and it sits on Center Line wheels.

“Dad bought this car for me when I was 15, and I’m now 21, so it’s surreal to think that I’ll soon be driving this thing around.

“I can’t wait to go cruising with my brother or my girlfriend, and take it out alongside my dad’s XY.”

Deegan Rane
Ford BF Falcon XR6 ute

“When I bought this 2007 BF XR6 Rip Curl ute in Neo Blue, it had been in a front end crash with a pole.

“I replaced the radiator support and all the damaged panels, but the paint was faded, so I ended up respraying the whole car in its original colour, including the engine bay.

“It had a lot of mechanical issues as well, so I have replaced every seal and bush on the car and got it running how it should.

“I’m planning on ripping the Barra out, slapping a snail on the side and putting a ZF ’box behind it to handle the extra power.

“I learned a lot about bodywork during the respray process, as it was my first crack at it.

“With a few tips and pointers from a few mates of mine, I’ve brought it back from the dead. I do love this car; it puts a smile on my face when I drive it.”

Jordan Roache-Doherty
Holden VK Commodore

“My VK Commodore is more than just a build, it’s my dream in the making – I’ve poured everything into it.

“It runs a tough LS1 on E85, and I plan to add a meth-fed blower on an Edelbrock Victor Jr manifold poking through the bonnet.

“The car is getting a full respray in its original Corniche gold colour, and there will be 22×12 dished Simmons rims on the rear.

“I’m building it primarily for burnouts and street cruising, and I’ve done most of the build myself while juggling full-time work.”

Jayden Bonello
Holden VB Commodore SL/E

“I’m currently restoring my 1978 VB SL/E Commodore. It has been off the road for five years, but it’s definitely taking a lot longer than I expected.

“It’s just been resprayed by one of my uncles, and my other uncle and I assembled it. It still has the original, matching-numbers 253 V8, but it’s had an extensive rebuild, including flat-top pistons, A9L conrods and a balanced crank.

“Feeding it is a four-barrel carby. The interior was also fully restored, and I can’t wait to get it all back together.”

Jordan Devries
Holden VS Commodore ute

“This is my pro-drag-inspired Holden ute. The 304 V8 has been stroked out to 383 cubes and runs a throaty solid-roller cam with tie-bar lifters, ported VN heads, and Yella Terra shaft rockers. It should make 500hp to the flywheel and a heap of torque.

“I wanted to do something a bit different, so I got rid of the EFI and chucked on an Edelbrock Air Gap dual-plane manifold, topped by a 650cfm carby.

“The transmission is a built TH400, and the car has been mini-tubbed to the rails with a shortened Borgy diff with 3.7:1 gears and 31-spline axles.

“The engine bay has been shaved and resprayed by yours truly, and the interior has a custom dash with digital gauges and most of the switches converted to push-button.

“I’ve built this car with my dad in our garage, and it’s been three-and-a-half years of heartbreak and fun!

“I’ve learnt so much along the way, and it’s such a special thing to be able to share those memories with him! He made me do things twice to get them perfect, and although I would argue at the time, it was so worth it in the end.

“The short-term goal is to get it to Summernats; I’ve entered twice before and had to pull out because we kept evolving the build, but we’ll get there!”

Deacon Fava
Ford XD Fairmont Ghia

“This is my 1981 Ford XD Fairmont Ghia, which I got for my 14th birthday last year.

“I’m in the process of fully restoring it with my dad.

“The car is running a factory 351 Clevo, backed by a four-speed, so it should be good fun when it’s done!”
