Holden HQ panel van – reader’s car

Brandon Townsend has big plans for his Holden HQ pano

This article on Brandon’s HQ Holden panel van was originally published in the August 2018 issue of Street Machine magazine

“THIS is my Holden panel van; I was given it by the old man when I was 17, and it has been a project since then. It runs a 202 blue motor with a five-speed manual out of a Commodore and a 10-bolt diff.

In the near future I’m putting extractors and sidepipes on it and am going to do a wooden floor in the back, add shag-carpet rooflining throughout and make some bubble windows with a mate from work.

Then once I’m off the P-plates I will put a 253 V8 in it and paint it up as a 1980s-style show van. The model in the photo (above) was at the Rats, Tatts n’ Pinups event at the Stamford Hotel in Rowville.”
