“Here is my 1982 XE Falcon GL wagon. The car was originally purchased by Ramset Australia as a manager’s vehicle in Launceston, Tasmania.

“My grandmother bought the car directly from Ramset in 1983, and it’s been in the family ever since.

“It’s has factory-optioned air con, and still runs its original crossflow six and auto, with roughly 140,000km on the clock.

“It was last registered in 1999, which was the year we did a Gold Coast trip in it when I was only four years old. Since then, the car had sat unused.

“After telling my nan I was on the hunt for another project car to tidy up, she offered her wagon to me, as it was starting to deteriorate.

“We shipped it from Tassie up to Newcastle, where I found typical X-series wagon rust in the roof and just starting out in the other usual spots, so I’m in the process of cutting all the rust out, including a full roof turret replacement.

“The goal is to return the car back to its original condition so my grandmother can get behind the wheel of it again after not driving it for over 25 years.”
