Elton Walker’s stunning Chev wagon is turning heads across Australia. Here’s his story on how it evolved from humble beginnings to a show-stopping, Top 10 debut at Rockynats.

“My 1957 Chevy has been transformed from a Sedan Delivery into a four-seater two-door wagon over a period of 14 years.

“It was unveiled at Rockynats in 2023 and won Top Interior Elite and a Top 10 spot, as well as second in Top Restomod and an invitation to MotorEx Melbourne, where it was one of the 16 Superstars finalists in the Elite Hall.

“It runs a supercharged 6.2L LSA, custom PWR radiator and interchiller, and Spal fans. A Tremec six-speed manual sends the power back to a four-linked, 9in rear end with a 3.70:1 LSD and 31-spline axles.

“Up front is a UniSteer rack-and-pinion front end and tubular A-arms, and there’s coil-over shocks and disc brakes all ’round.

“The American Legend Talon wheels measure 18×8 up front and 20×10 in the rear.

“Paint is custom two-tone Kandy Burgundy and Graphite, which has been colour-matched on the undercarriage and suspension.

“Other exterior mods include a custom grille, and CNC-machined bonnet bullets and grille bar. Inside, Shane Webb at Image Trimming has decked everything out in leather and Alcantara, and there’s also Holden Astra electric power steering via a Flaming River wheel and column; Vintage Air air con; a custom dash that houses a Dakota Digital display; full-length console; power windows; reversing camera; security and sat-nav; and lots more.

“The wagon has been invited to Dubbo Motorfest later this year.”
