“I purchased my 1965 XP Falcon ute with a 250 pre-crossflow engine and a single-rail four-speed transmission.

“It had been sitting for over 10 years and didn’t run, so my partner and I brought it home and took the engine out for a refresh.

“We also stripped down the paint and did a full respray ourselves.

“We refitted the refreshed motor with a three-speed automatic transmission, and also added a Centura diff.

“We managed to get the car running and driving, but we soon realised that it just wasn’t enough power.

“So, we decided to change it up a bit with a 347 stroker Windsor and mini-tubs.

“Under those tubs is a four-link 9in rear end, with a C4 transmission feeding it power.

“Currently, the engine is all machined up and balanced, ready to be assembled.

“We’re also refreshing some of the paintjob, and the rear suspension still needs a lot more work.

“We do have the XP entered in Street Machine Summernats 38, so we hope to make it there.”
