“My Torana was featured in the In The Build section back in 2022, and I got it all finished up in March last year.

“It’s a genuine 253/four-speed manual SS with optional air con, and I’ve given it a complete rotisserie restoration and re-powered it with a VT Commodore-based 355 V8.

“Apart from the engine’s rotating assembly and stitching up the interior, I’ve done all the work myself, with my son Jarryd helping me, including the panel and paint.

“It’s repainted in its original Atlantis Blue, and the interior’s been retrimmed in the factory Chamois and Chevron cloth, using all NOS Chevron, which was the rarest element I had to source and took me years to find.

“The 355 runs a Scat stroker kit, a Harrop dual-plane manifold, and Holley Sniper EFI with HyperSpark timing control, so the throttle response is super-crisp, with heaps of torque.

“The engine is paired with a TKX five-speed using a Mal Wood hydraulic clutch set-up, while the Volvo 240 rear end has an Eaton Truetrac centre and Volvo disc brakes.
“The front uses a Hopper Stoppers kit, so it makes it good fun to throw around at events like Optima Ultimate Street Car and Retrospeed Wilby Park, where I recently lost it big time pushing it hard!

“I do still have all the original running gear as well, just in case I want to slow down at some point.”
