“This 1938 Chrysler Royal has been sitting in the family for more than two decades, patiently waiting its turn to return to the road.

“Pulled from a creek bed out bush by my old man many years ago, the old Mopar quickly became a permanent fixture in the shed.

“As a kid, it caught my eye every single day, and for years I imagined what it could eventually become. When the time finally came, the car was dragged into the workshop at Resurrected Customs to begin its rebirth.

The build has involved extensive in-house fabrication to turn the car into a properly engineered custom.

“Out back, it now runs a VS ute diff with a notched chassis, four-link and airbag set-up, while an HR Holden front end, also with airbags, now lives underneath the nose.

“Custom bead-rolled raised floorpans and a fabricated alloy fuel cell help the big Chrysler lay chassis rails.

“Power comes from a tough Holden 308 backed by a Trimatic, and a full stainless exhaust system snakes through the chassis rails to maintain ground clearance when the car airs out.

“To make sure the big girl stops as good as she goes, brand-new Wilwood calipers handle braking duties.

“The car is set to appear at Half Way Havoc in Valla Beach this July, alongside several other Resurrected Customs builds – including one car that won’t be seen by the public until its official unveiling.”
