RAIN, hail or shine, Street Machine Supernats is full steam ahead this long weekend at Sydney Dragway. It’s going to be an action-packed event, with everything from top-level show cars, some of the best burnout rigs in the country and blown-versus-turbo quarter-mile drag racing. There’ll be tons of smoke, probably a few fires from the blown and injected burnout brigade, and plenty of wheels-up action at the strip. It all begins at 9am Saturday morning, with non-stop drag racing up until 4:30pm, when the smoke show will begin with the burnout comp qualifying. Check out the photos below from last year’s event.

Another burnout comp on this Saturday is Tyre Warfare at the Bairnsdale Motorsport Club in Bairnsdale, Victoria. The event has everything from burnouts and powerskids to a go-to-whoa and show ’n’ shine. Gates open for entrants at 7am, and 9am for spectators. Adult admission is $30 for the day.

The Show Us Your Wheels Classic & Custom Car & Bike Show is on this Sunday at the Next Step Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Centre in Thomastown, Victoria. It is $15 to enter your car, and prizes will be awarded to the best hot rod, classic, bike, old-school custom and new-school custom. All money raised goes towards helping the recovery of spinal injury sufferers.

The Brisbane Classic Car Show At Night is on this Saturday night at the Capalaba Central Shopping Centre, Brisbane. Along with heaps of cool chrome-bumper cars, this event will have food trucks and street food, retro stalls, live rockabilly band Lock n Load and more! A gold coin donation is all that’s required to get in.

Another one in Queensland this weekend is the Lakeside Drags & Cruise Session on Sunday. Bring your street-legal wheels down to Lakeside Park Raceway from 8am and cruise the track, then line up for some off-street eighth-mile drag racing. It’ll cost you $50 to drive, or $10 at the gate to spectate for the day.

All In Car Cruises is hosting a meet and cruise from Masters Thompsons Road in Cranbourne, Victoria. The meet kicks off at 6:30pm Saturday night and this free event is open for anyone to join. There are usually quite a few tough Aussie and American muscle cars that get along to these events, so if you’re in the area check it out.

The 43rd Annual General Motors Display Day is on this Sunday at the Museum of Fire in Penrith, NSW. The event is open to all Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oakland, Pontiac, Vauxhall, Opel, Bedford, FX and FJ Holden cars and commercials. Gates open from 8am, with free public admission.

Up in the Northern Territory town of Yarrawonga this Sunday, there is a show ’n’ shine and dyno competition at ATIC Performance (17 Beresford Road). A gold coin gets you entry, and it’s $10 to enter your car in the show ’n’ shine or $60 to run some numbers on the dyno. Prizes will be awarded for the highest horsepower and closest horsepower estimate. It all starts from around 4pm and all proceeds go towards the Legacy NT charity.

The inaugural Kerang Show ’n’ Shine is on this Sunday at the Kerang Showgrounds, Victoria. Eleven different judging categories will cover veteran and vintage, classics through the decades, trucks, hot rods (minimum 25 years of age), motorbikes and Best Survivor. The action kicks off from 9am ’til 4pm and spectator entry is $5.

The Maffra Motor Museum Swap Meet is also on this Sunday in Maffra, Victoria. The meet will be held in the grounds of the Motor Museum at 1A Sale Road and will feature car and motorbike parts, collectibles and garage memorabilia. It’s open to the public from 8am and it’ll cost you $5 to get in.

Another one in Victoria this weekend is the Pakenham Swap Meet on Sunday at the Pakenham footy oval. This event will cater to all makes and models of vintage, veteran and classic cars and includes a range of performance parts too. The event is on all day and public entry is $5.
