EVEN though it is held on a dusty trotting track, the Saturday-night Supecruise at Street Machine Summernats is always a highlight.

The showponies have been let out of the Elite Hall, there is a temporary ceasefire in the burnout wars and anything cool, wild or just plain weird enough to attract the attention of the judges scores a sticker to take part in a low-speed cruise around the track as the sun goes down.

The variety of cars is mindblowing! We’re talking about everything from the Grand Champion contenders to top-shelf burnout weapons, wild customs, blown hearses and a De Tomaso Pantera, all coming out to play.

It is also a time when the Grand Champion driving events are held, the Rare Spares Legend award is presented and then, of course, come the fireworks. What’s not to love?
