GETTING a spot on the Street Machine Summernats crew is a tough gig for photographers, journalists and videographers alike. Once a person has sampled the unique atmosphere inside Exhibition Park during that very special weekend, it is hard to get them to stay away.

Even so, we like to inject new blood into the mix when we can and this year was the first time at the Nats for new Street Machine photographer Alastair Brook. It took him a day or two to get his head around the sheer scale of the event, but he nevertheless managed to get some cracking shots of the cars – and people that make Street Machine Summernats so unique.
