It has never been easy for Sportsman racers to compete in a true Australian drag racing championship, due to the sheer distances involved. In the past, extra points were given to those who made the long hauls away from their home state. The NDRC, however, offers a different solution, with Eastern and Western Conferences giving racers the chance to limit their travel to at least one side of the country! The Western Conference winners were crowned at the Riverbend Nationals in April, with the Eastern Conference decided at the Winters. The highest performers from each conference will then meet at the Sportsman Grand Finals, to be held at Dragway at the Bend’s Spring Nationals, 18-20 October.
