One of the most turbulent and hectic editions of Drag Challenge we’ve ever seen has come to a close, with MPW Performance’s Adam Rogash taking out the overall win and top spot in the Carnage Outlaw Blown class.

His road to get there has been up there with one of the toughest Drag Challenge thrashers we’ve ever seen. Two camshaft swaps, four gearbox changes and two sleepless nights to coax his Mk1 Capri through the torture. His margin to second placed outright Keith Hards in the FAIRXW Ford was just 0.062, so he knew a low seven or a six was what it’d take to cement his victory.

Keith opened the batting with a 7.42@195MPH, but after a long wait in the heat for the field to complete their second runs, couldn’t improve on it with his next pass at a 7.66. Rogash’s one and only pass of the day was a 7.24@201MPH, which included a mechanical fuel pump failure at the 1000ft mark.

Third place outright went to OG Drag Challenge veteran, Luke Foley. Compared to the other front runners his week seemed to be stress free, and he urged the VH to a 7.83@180MPH. It also gave him second spot in Boostline Radial Blown, and he also scored a 4 Second Club hat for his 4.97 pass at Mildura.

Fourth went to Daniel Smith in Brendon de Ruyter’s K24-swapped Toyota Celica. A string of 7.8s at Dragway at The Bend and Heathcote on the last two days secured the boys top spot in Tuff Mounts 235 Blown, Fastest Four Cylinder/Rotor award and Daniel a Seven Second Club hat. All from a four pot – madness!

Other class winners included Alon Vella’s freshly built Mk1 Capri in Radial Aspirated, Louis Younis in ITF Hire 235 Aspirated, William Yarwood in SpeedPro Six Cylinder, Nathanial Ardern in PSR 8.5 Radial, Avyon McLeod in PSR 9.5 Radial and Joel Lucas in Hare & Forbes DYO.

Stay tuned for the full awards wrap up later today!
