The next evolution of NZ’s Biggest & Baddest Burnout Comp is here!
Our Pro Burnouts/Summernats Burnout Competition returns to Meremere on Saturday 2nd August, and this year we’re stepping it up a level!
If you haven’t been before, you’ve seriously missed out. Think flamethrowers, a live DJ, entrant Tip In music, a mega fireworks display and a bunch of new surprises in 2025.
For the first time ever, we’re introducing two classes, giving both up-and-comers and seasoned pros a chance to throw down on the burnout pad!

OPEN CLASS

  • For beginners and intermediate skidders
  • Competition-style format without the pressure of going head-to-head with the pros
  • Limited to 15 cars
  • Competition starts at 1:00pm

PRO CLASS

  • Reserved for the best of the best – high-level competitors only
  • Limited to 25 cars
  • Competition kicks off around 7:30pm

Total prize pool: over $11,000!
Plus: Converted Pro Burnout Series qualifying spots and Summernats Wildcard Invitations up for grabs.
Car transfers not included.

PRACTICE
The pad at Meremere will be open to all entrants from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
If you’re in Open Class, it’s a great chance to chat with the pros and pick up tips before you compete.

SUMMERNATS JUDGE
To keep things consistent with previous years, legendary Aussie burnout judge Matt is flying over. With 25+ years of experience on the Summernats pad, he’ll be judging both classes and hosting drivers’ briefings.

PLUS – MORE DRAG RACING!
Drag racing at Chrome keeps growing – now with extended racing hours into the evening.
• Free with all Standard and VIP Driver entries (WOF/Reg required)
• Or grab a Drag Racing Only entry at the gate

SPECTATORS
Tickets available at the gate – gates open at Meremere from around 11am to the public.
*Tickets are valid per day/venue only – Meremere and Hampton Downs are separate.
Hot tip: Grab a weekend wristband and move between both all weekend!
