In 2026, the Noosa Hillclimb proudly celebrates its 29th year, marking almost three decades as one of Queensland’s most recognised and respected grassroots motorsport events. Established in 1998, the event has grown from a local enthusiast gathering into a nationally recognised celebration of motorsport heritage, driving skill, engineering excellence and strong community involvement.

Held on the scenic Gyndier Drive course at Tewantin in the Noosa Shire, the event delivers a unique blend of competition and festival atmosphere. The course itself is a challenging 1.5 kilometre stretch of closed public road featuring 14 tight and undulating corners, elevation changes and highly technical sections that test both driver skill and vehicle performance. This distinctive layout, set within natural bushland surroundings, has become one of the defining features of the Noosa Hillclimb and a major attraction for competitors and spectators.

Over the years, the Noosa Hillclimb has attracted an outstanding list of competitors and personalities from Australian motorsport history, including: Dick Johnson Kevin Bartlett  Glen Seton   Broc Feeney  Ben Walsh  Fabian Gulhard Harri Jones.

The event has also proudly supported and encouraged women in motorsport, with strong participation from female competitors, officials and volunteers who play an important role in the continued success and inclusive nature of the event.

Importantly, the Noosa Hillclimb is far more than a motorsport competition. It is a not for profit community event operated entirely by volunteers from the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club. The event is also supported by local businesses and sponsors whose ongoing commitment helps ensure its continued success while delivering significant economic and tourism benefits to the Noosa region.
