“I picked up my 2005 VZ SS Z ute a while back; it’s one of 1200 SS Zs made and in insanely good condition, with just 86,000km on the clock.

“Over the past 13 years, it’s only done 12,000km, with logbooks to prove it, having only been driven while the previous owner took his wife to dinner or for Holden-related car events.

“It’s a pretty simple build, with a nice camshaft in the LS1 matched with the original 4L60E ’box with a Stage 2 shift-kit.

“It now has a few tasteful HDT parts, along with a nice exhaust system using Pacemaker and XForce components.

“I got to meet the shop owner and tuner who remembered doing this car when he first opened his business 20-odd years ago.

“I’ve gotta give a shout-out to Eddie and his team for looking out for me all these years.”
