BASED in the Queensland town of Beaudesert, Pat’s Pro Restos has been building elite and street elite-style cars at a furious rate over the last few years, including Jason Cooke’s XP coupe, Peter Heinz’s ’51 Chev pickup and Mal Seiler’s ’64 Galaxie.

This latest creation is this 1974 XB Ford Falcon hardtop dubbed FATXB and owned by Rick Galloway. As usual, Pat’s outstanding craftsmanship is on show throughout. As with most of Pat’s builds, Chris Bakker of Elite Interiors handled the trim, this time in kangaroo leather that Chris has used in helicopters!

Likewise, Tony O’Conner from TOCA Performance handled the engine side of things, namely a 600hp 383ci Cleveland, backed by a Bob Grant C4 and a 35-spline Altra 9 rear. The rims are 18×7 and 18×11.5 American Legend Havocs, hiding a big set of Wilwood brakes.

Between 2500 and 3000 hours were spent on the car over just 20 months. Not only was MotorEx the first time the car had been revealed to the public, it was also the first time owner had seen the completed car in the metal.
