EVEN though he’s a one-man band operating from a home workshop, street machining legend Howard Astill continues to churn out stunning vehicles at an impressive rate of knots.

Built for a customer by the name of Marko, this superbly presented street-and-strip Ford looks unassuming at first, but there’s 1000hp worth of twin-turbo V8 lurking beneath the bonnet.

The car is the first Howard has painted himself in a good many years, not that you’d ever pick it looking at the sheer quality of the finish. The colour is the car’s original hue – Summer Gold – and it suits the factory flavour of the build down to the ground.

Quality parts are fitted throughout, from the RRS front suspension to the Gazzard Bros monoleaf rear end, with massive Brembo brakes, equally proportioned Simmons wheels, a great stance and typically astonishing level of attention to detail.

Track-spec Kirkey seats were fitted up at Motorex, but a fully restored GT-spec interior is in the works.

We’ll bring you a full feature on the car in due course, but for now, check out the video for further insight into the build.
