FORD FORUM NATIONALS AT HEATHCOTE PARK

Fords, Fords everywhere! Rain didn't stop Ford fanatics running numbers at Heathcote for the Ford Forums Nationals

THE rain (mostly) stayed away, and Ford owners from all around Australia converged on Heathcote Park Raceway for the Ford Forum Nationals last weekend. Among the huge conglomerate of late 60s, early 70s Falcons, were some cool odd ball contenders like Paul Librio’s twin-turbo F100 pick-up, Daniel Shaw’s sleeper ’78 LTD and Tim Rhone’s twin-turbo XP Coupe (listen out for the blow off valve in the video!).

Kris Van Krieken was out running nines in his budget-built Barra-powered ED Falcon PSIPOP and was one of the fastest rigs on track all day. Phil Edmondson’s FAT383 turbo XB Coupe would have been a contender, except it encountered some weird computer gremlins and seemed to be cutting fuel whenever he stood on the loud pedal. He’ll be pulling her off the road shortly for a tidy up before taking on Street Machine Drag Challenge in October.
