HOLDEN VK WAGON WITH A 355CI TURBO V8 – VIDEO

Andrew Darby's Holden V8 Commodore wagon is insanely quick

WATCH as Andrew Darby’s Holden Commodore wagon wiggles and squirms its way down the quarter mile at Heathcote Raceway. The family truckster is the quickest Holden-powered doorslammer in the country; and given that Australia is the only country to run the Holden V8, that means the world.

Powered by a 355ci Holden V8 with a absolutely massive Garrett GT55 turbo, Andrew’s wagon still runs a factory Holden block and cast iron heads. He will, however, admit to stepping up to a four-bolt map cap set-up recently, but Andrew has run 7.99 with a factory two-bolt combo so we’re not sure if the extra bolts are going to help or not. Andrew also uses a locally produced Microtech LT-16 ECU in his wild wagon and with two banks of injectors the beast consumes a diet of straight methanol.

After running 8.05@179mph last weekend at Heathcote Raceway, we can only guess just how quick this machine will go when it heads to Calder Park or Sydney Raceway. As you can see from the video the wagon is fighting for every bit of traction it can get.
