AFTER losing her husband Shaun to lung cancer, Michelle Hanigan decided to continue her husband’s dream of drag racing his hot rod. Bought as a rolling shell, the car only needed a driveline to finish it off, so a trusty LS1 setup was slotted in. And it gets the light-weight body moving along very nicely.

Michelle’s home-track is the eighth-mile near Tamworth where the car runs low sevens, and during its first quarter-mile outing at Willowbank’s Nostalgia Drags it went low elevens. Michelle had her first race in the car a couple of weekends ago at the Gunnedah drag meet and made a best pass of 7.38 over the eighth mile.
