CHOPPED FX HOLDEN WITH 350 CHEV

Les Rogers's FX Holden has been reborn as a chopped 350-Chev powered daily

LES Rogers has owned his FX Holden since he was 18 years old. After binning it in a paddock as a young 21-year-old a few years later, he stuck it in the shed with the plan of eventually doing it up into a serious street machine.

Les lives in Western Australia but entrusted the build duties to South Australian company Auto Transformers – you’ve no doubt seen some of their builds, including owner Andrew Mitchell’s own ’39 Lincoln Zephyr coupe (SM, Jan ’14). The boys gave the car a three-inch roof chop, full custom interior and paint job, a 350 Chev motor, Rod-Tech independent front suspension and a disc-brake nine-inch rear.

Les wanted something he could reliably and comfortably drive every day so it’s no horsepower monster and it’s not slammed into the weeds. But it runs and drives like a new car with the classic look of an old humpy.
