IT has been a rough couple of weeks for the family and friends of 24-year old burnout competitor, Darcy Ewing.
Best known for his blown and injected big block HJ wagon KURRUPT, Darcy was left in a coma and on life support with a fractured skull after a go cart accident on the 28th of July.
The good news is that Darcy is regaining consciousness and is becoming responsive to those around him. He has come out of the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital but has a long way to go on his path to recovery.
To support Darcy, Nick and the team from Vinn’s Takeaway in Albury helped run a show and shine at the neighbouring footy oval and donated the day’s takings to the cause.
Locals came out in force to support the event and a giant list of local businesses also chipped in. With donations, raffles and the shop takings, the event raised over $11,000. You have to love the spirit in the car scene!
In addition, there is another fund raising function being held this Friday,11 August at the Court House Hotel in Howlong, NSW. The plan there is to hold a charity auction, with lots of great stuff up for grabs. Not local?
