This caravan-pulling EJ ute is headed for the 11-second zone

THERE must be something in the water at the moment, with deceptively tough, street-driven EJ Holden utes popping up all over the country!

We spied Clyde Slaughter’s example at the APSA Shootout at Benaraby Raceway in Queensland last month. Clyde arrived at the track pulling a very cool vintage caravan. After setting up camp, he headed out to the track and ran a series of low 12-second passes with zero fuss. The ute has a PB of 12.06@114mph to its name, but Clyde wants to tow the van to the track, run that elusive 11-second pass and drive the rig home. Respect!

We’ve got the full story on the event in the October issue of SM, on sale this Thursday.
