TAKING A LEAF from the Nitro Circus and Crusty Demons playbook, show announcer Jason Bean and burnout legend Steve Loader teamed up to create the Burnouts Unleashed concept as a means to take burnouts to the next level.

The idea was to put the top 60 burnout cars in Australia in front of grandstand seating and real time scoring. Then up the ante with an epic sound system, big screens, stunt teams, dancers and sprinkle the lot with strobe and laser lighting. Talk about sensory overload!

Mother Nature threw the boys a wildcard though, and dumped a crap load of rain all over southern Queensland in the lead up to the event, but the show must go on as they say and the guys decided to stick with it.

“We had too much invested in the show to postpone or abort, so we forged ahead after the rain stopped,” Jason says.

Even though the rain delayed the start, plenty of people were queued up for hours before the gates opened and despite the conditions over 3000 people turned out for the show. The original plan was for everyone to run and then have a Top 20 shootout but the rain-adjusted schedule saw the winners decided by their one run and that saw Mick Brasher take home the $5000 first prize, with Warren Gersekowski second in 1TUFHG and Rick Fuller in third with LSONE.
