We have paint! And power! The Sidchrome Cobra is complete

Share

SIX months after the Python Vehicles Australia guys started with a bare body and chassis, the Sidchrome Cobra is complete and has made its public debut at Street Machine Summernats 30. As with any project, a lot tends to happen very quickly as things start to wind up, and in this instalment we cover everything from how the body is permanently mated to the chassis, to the awesome paint and stripe work by the kids at Chisholm TAFE, to the emissions testing at VIPAC. We also get to fire up the car for the first time – and hear how that mighty Coyote 5.0-litre V8 sounds through those magnificent sidepipes.

Sidchrome -cobra -2The reaction to the Sidchrome Cobra at Summernats 30 was massive, and if you haven’t got your entry in by now, you have left it too late! The comp has closed, we look forward to announcing the winner soon. I was lucky enough to take the car for a spin before Christmas, and boy, was I impressed – it is a ball to drive and really feels like a true production car. And that was with the street exhaust on; I can’t wait to take it for a burn with the engine singing through the sidepipes!

Sidchrome -cobra -3Next month will be the final video in this series, and for that we’ll take the car out and let you see and hear just how good it is. Whoever wins this car is going to be very happy, I’ll give you the tip.
