Eastbound and Down

Street Machine staffer Gavin Morrison has dreamed about owning his own Pontiac Firebird Trans Am since he was a kid, inspired by the 1977 film, Smokey and the Bandit.

After years of planning, searching and driving his workmates crazy, Gav put his money down on a nice left-hand drive example on Wednesday. He then jumped on a bomber on Thursday with our Dep Ed and flew from Sydney to Perth to bring it home! The boys had the car checked out by a local mechanic, bought some basic spares and tools and after a quick shed crawl in Perth are on their way home, all 4279km of it! So far they've had a rap over the knuckles from the highway patrol, but are otherwise powering on. You can keep up with their progress on our Facebook page.
