The Aussie custom scene of the 1960s was a bit like the dinosaurs – immensely popular in their heyday, then quickly wiped out leaving little evidence of their existence.

Put like T-Rex and pals, every once in a while an old custom is dug up, provoking a mountain of fuss. The latest car to resurface is an iconic Brisbane custom named Delta.

Built in the late 60s by a young Brisbane panel beater by the name of Neil Flynn, Delta was an XL Falcon sedan given a stunning Mustang-style makeover. Since its heyday on the show scene, Delta has had more lives than a cat, including surviving the 1974 Brisbane floods!

While time has knocked Delta around, it is great that the car still exists and you can read the whole history of the car in the new issue of Street Machine Hot Rod.
