BLOWN SMALL-BLOCK VN COMMODORE AT SUMMERNATS 30 - VIDEO

YOU don't see too many really nicely modified VN Commodores floating around - especially the hotter SS versions. Brad Phillips picked up his VN SS as a 17 year-old, tidied it up and then pulled it off the road for a full-on rebuild that resulted in the super tough Pro Street-style near-1000rwhp weapon. The aim of the build was to make something that could be used for racing and burnouts.

Most of the floor was cut out of the VN and giant wheel tubs carved into the rear-end with a three-quarter chassis. Up front is a 6/71 blown 412-cube small-block Chev. Once it's all tuned and running smooth it should make around 1000hp. Backing the Chev motor is a TH400 and nine-inch rear end. The car was finished the Friday before Summernats and the punters have been loving it.
