HG MONARO GTS

SEP 2016

JOEL Lambert’s immaculately presented HG Monaro wowed punters on debut in the Elite Hall at Summernats 29. But an elite-level build was far from Joel’s mind initially. A lifelong early Monaro fan, at age 17 he bought this car as a roller from his old boss at the local butcher for $5000. But the proverbial snowball effect kicked in, and the car ended up getting a complete overhaul thanks largely to Darren Reid, who performed most of the show-stopping fab work and assembly. Up front is a 441ci NRE small-block Chev with a plate nitrous system, while those iconic Monaro panels are swathed in eye-searing Lamborghini Orange.
