THE big one this weekend is Brashernats Sydney. Mad Mick Brasher is taking over Sydney Dragway this Sunday for what will be the city’s biggest burnout gig of the year. It’s a Summernats feeder event too, which means there are three Golden Tickets into the Summernats 30 Burnout Masters up for grabs – two for the best blown cars and one for an aspirated beast. If the best cars already have a Masters spot (as cars like S1CKO, ATRISK and LYNCHY do), the tickets will go to the next best. Along with the burnouts, Brashernats will include a show ’n’ shine and dyno shootout. It’s going to be awesome, so for more spectator and competitor info check out www.brashernats.com. The Australian Ford Forum Nationals are on at Heathcote Park this Friday and Saturday. The event is open to all types of Ford vehicles, with a test ’n’ tune session on Friday night and competitive racing all day Saturday. Gates open at 8:30am Saturday morning and racing will be from 11am until 7pm.

It’s all happening in Queensland, with the Winter Nationals on at Willowbank Raceway this weekend. More than 400 cars and bikes are expected to turn up for the final round of the Thunder 400 Drag Racing Championship this weekend to put on one hell of a show. There will be everything from Top Fuels to street cars.

The 15th annual HD/HR Holden Nationals takes place this weekend at the Ollie Robbins Oval, Dubbo, NSW. If you love the HD and HR shape, you won’t see more of them in one place than this Nationals event! The event will be run from 9am Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday’s car show being open to the public.

Another big one in Queensland this weekend is Cooly Rocks On in Coolangatta. This is the biggest 50s and 60s nostalgia festival in Australia. Spread over two kilometres, over 1300 hot rods, customs and classic cars will line the Coolangatta and Tweed Heads beachfront, with plenty of rock ’n’ roll, rockabilly and swing music for entertainment. The main show and shine is this weekend!

Downunder Beachfest is on this weekend at Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. It’s open to all pre-1983 vehicles and includes a heap of cruising, an all-day show ’n’ shine with live bands on Saturday, and driving events and an evening car show on Sunday. Unfortunately it’s too late to enter your car, as Beachfest kicked off on Thursday, but anyone is welcome to check out the show ’n’ shine events.

In Bendigo, Victoria we have the Mid-State Mopars Show ’n’ Shine & Motorkhana on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday the motorkhana is being held at the Bendigo Livestock Exchange on Leans Road, while the show ’n’ shine and swap meet is on Sunday at the Town Hall Precinct. The event will be predominantly Mopars, so if that’s your thing check it out.

Back up in Queensland, the 38th Annual Charters Towers Motor Show & Swap Meet is on at the Charters Towers Showground from Friday through to Sunday. This one is open to all makes and models, and the bar has been set pretty high, with Dave and Lyn Keen’s 1955 FJ Holden, 1BADFJ, confirmed to be in attendance!

Another one in Queensland this weekend is the Two Days of Thunder at Queensland Raceway. Over three days (yes, three), more than 120 Trans-Am, Group N, Touring Cars and other historic racers will battle it out for the top step of the podium. Friday is a practice day, while there will be racing on Saturday and Sunday.
