THINK YOUR street machine is fast? Then why not bring it to the Street Machine Streetcar Shootout at Heathcote Park Raceway, 18 October for a laid-back day of high horsepower fun?

Racing starts at 11am, so leave the trailer at home, run what you brung and hope you brung enough!

For this event, we’re not interested in full-chassis monsters, or stripped-out trailer queens, just genuinely quick street-registered cars that are driven to the track.

The classes will be simple. We’ll have the Outlaw classes for blown and unblown cars for those running big radials or slicks, and then there will be blown and unblown Street Radial 275 classes, plus a DYO class for everyone else.

All classes will be run Chicago Shootout style so you’ll get at least three competition passes in addition to your qualifying runs, and the best pair from each class will go into the final. The winners will score trophies and massive bragging rights.

At the end of the night, we’ll run a King of the Hill bracket where everyone runs heads up until there’s one car left. There’ll be no cool-down time or stops to fill NOS bottles or replenish intercooler ice, this will be the kind of real-deal punishment that race cars hate, but street cars eat up.

Racing is $60, spectators $20, and kids under 14 are free. Spots are limited to 100 cars, so contact [email protected] for an entry form. Entries close 30 September.
